This impressive tea set was designed by Rohde in 1933, late in his career. On a matching tray with ebony handles and bakelite feet it has makers marks from the year of its design. The tray was made post 1945. Johan Rohde was a distinguisted Danish painter, graphic artist, designer and critic. Always pushing the boundaries. He drew the architectural plans or his own home and set about designing furniture, silver flatware, holloware and other objects that he would use within it. (tray c1945).
